Role of Congress/President
The majority of American citizens believe our politicians are out of touch with reality. American citizens don’t want to just have the democrat and republican parties anymore. Americans want to have independent people run for these positions who don’t have any alliances and are loyal only to the American public. Americans want there to be more competition and be able to choose from more than 2 people per position. Americans also don’t want to be labeled as liberal and conservative anymore. American politics are way more complex than a single label. Sometimes a liberal law or policy will make sense and be the right move and sometimes a conservative law or policy will be in the best interest of the American people. Because of the size of our country and the disconnect between the constituents and our politicians, the American people want to have more say in the laws and policies. We have a huge and intelligent population. We want to leverage that intelligence and have all of us work together and sharing our knowledge and intelligence. Therefore, the American people want to have more input and want to vote on the laws and policies. We want the roles of Congress and the President to be more administrative. The American public will vote on the laws and policies and Congress and the President will implement them. We the people will start making all of our decisions based on what the majority of us want and what is good and right for us with the input of congress and the president explaining the issues, the pros and cons, and coming up with great ideas and ballot measures for us to vote on. We want congress to accumulate information and present it to us in very basic, laymens terms. In addition, we also want congress and the president to accumulate and present information to usto us in a very basic layman terms. They will tell us the current tax system, current Medicaid rules. We want a detailed accounting of exactly where all of our tax money is going. We also want a quarterly report from each The president will oversee all of this. Think of the president like a vp or ceo and the congress as the president directors. That means we want to make it easier for people to vote, not harder. We’d like to see electronic and mail in voting in all states. We want congress and the president to work full time, 40 hours a week. You can still keep your connections with the lobbyists but the lobbyists will just be presenting their side of the equation, which you can then pass on to the voters. Come up with ballot measures for the voters to vote on. We also want Congress to present us with information so the voters can make informed decisions. This means that instead of needing to know if you are conservative or liberal we need to know your skill set. Are you good at reading complex data and regulations and presenting the data to the American public via word documents and video presentations so can understand if and what needs to change? Such as explaining our tax system. Do you know a lot about climate change and what we can do small things and large things to mitigate destruction from fires, floods, and other natural disasters? Are you good at explaining complex issues? We also want to get the money out of politics, so donations will be capped at $5000 + fees for congress and $5000 + fees for President which is the amount of money needed to run for these positions.
